Banksy Prints

Banksy was renowned artist known for his exceptional pieces of graffiti and stencil art done on buildings and other landmarks. The general name given for his type of artwork is Street Art given the medium in which he chose. His early work is primarily graffiti then it changes to freehand and stenciling as he became familiar with the technique. Although his actual identity is unknown his art has been admired for years. His art was popular in Europe and the United Kingdom, particularly Bristol and London. The general message of his art was anti-war or political based and showed his true feelings regarding the issues at the time. Some of his popular pieces are Christ With Shopping Bags and CMD Soldiers. Given the graphic nature of some of his art one can usually guess the overall messages. Since the mid 1990’s his popularity has increased as he became more proficient in his stenciling technique. Prints of his work are very popular considering he never actually sold his art himself. It would be difficult to obtain and actual piece of his work since they were primarily done on site. Nevertheless, Banksy prints are an excellent way to own a piece of his artwork and admire it in your home.
