As with all forms of fashion, lipstick too has it’s ins and outs and even sheers, mattes and creams. The matte lipsticks have less oils and more pigment than the other types, so they stay on longer and have a vibrant color. It is the process of adding powders that give them their flat finish look. The sheer lipsticks are more natural looking and soft. These types of lipsticks contain beeswax, shea butter and vitamin E which leaves them feeling comfortable to wear and not at all heavy. But with all of those ingredients, it means you must reapply more often than the other types. The cream lipsticks are silicone-based and can also be called satins. The silicone helps them to adhere to the lips and seal in the moisture. They are good for daytime wear and will last a long time. Shimmers are fun. They contain particles of mica or silica and sometimes synthetic pearls to get that frosty finish and are best for nighttime outings. So choose the right lipstick for right effect and your total outfit will be the hit of the night.
